A Thirty-Year Wait
The ferry that once ran here was a simple chain ferry. It did exactly one job: it took people straight across the river and back again. No frills, just a direct crossing that locals relied on for decades.
That ferry stopped running over thirty years ago, and since then, this stretch of the Avon has been without one. Bringing it back has taken time, patience and a lot of support from people who believed it was worth doing. We think it was.

What's Different This Time
The old ferry had one job: straight across and back. Our new ferry can still do that, but it can do quite a bit more too.
You can now use the ferry to cross directly to the other side of the river, where you'll find some lovely dog walking paths waiting to be explored. You can travel across to The Valley Country Park for an easy day out surrounded by nature. Or you can head all the way into Evesham town for a different way to explore the area entirely.
Three ways to use the river, all from the same pick-up point outside The Bridge Inn. Whether you fancy a short hop with the dog, a family day at The Valley, or a boat ride into town instead of driving, the ferry can take you there.
